Suggestions are provided for the successful transition of Governor Schwarzenegger from showman to statesman that depends on the wisdom with which he chooses his political battles. He is advised to avoid being exploited by anyone else's personal, partisan or ideological cause and to remain a team player for the GOP in the role of supporting man rather than star.

Teaching pays
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on salaries and benefits for California teachers, citing the state's higher living costs and an increasing demand for teachers as the factors behind pay raises and improvements in benefits. Despite this, other changes are needed to encourage teachers to remain in teaching positions rather than shifting to administration jobs.
