Earthquake fatalities: the interaction of nature and political economy
Article Abstract:
The factors that are responsible for some fraction of society not willing to share the economic burden of disasters like earthquake are analyzed. The political aspects of such disaster like failure to enforce building codes and demark quake prone zones are also examined. Fatalities from earthquake adversely affect the per capita income of a country.
