Interest-group politics under majority rule
Article Abstract:
A model of interest-group politics is created in which the associations and temporary alliances between groups that arise are determined. The form of redistribution policies desired is also determined. Results indicate that influences controlling the formation of coalitions have a significant impact on the structure and the outcomes of redistribution policies. Thus, a close examination of interest groups reveals important components of policymaking in a democracy.
