Knowledge as power: Science, military dominance and U.S. security
Article Abstract:
The war against international terror is to be fought with science rather than at the expense of science. The new information technologies using powerhouse terascale computing capabilities is expected to be able to help in tracking and anticipating the behavior of terror networks and the federal investments of the United States are moving down this smart science-based response path.

Pacifism or passing the buck? : Testing theories of Japanese security policy
Article Abstract:
The post World War II behavior of the Japan's security policy is described. The effects of a constructivist theory of antimilitarism and a realist theory of buck-passing in the Japanese security policy are tested. The analysis is showing the implications of international relations theory and for U.S. foreign policy.

Targeted saving by renters for housing purchase in Japan
Article Abstract:
A study which examines the relationship between wealth accumulation and housing purchase plans, using the data based on young Japanese renters is presented. The study is conducted by employing the Nelson and Olson method.
