Latinos in California's future
Article Abstract:
Proposition 187, which highlight the anti-immigration attitudes of whites in California, only emphasizes the lack of recognition given to Latino populations and their marginal status as a regional minority. The reluctance of Latinos to merge with Californian culture and to be Americanized has mainly contributed to this isolation. However, concentration of Latinos in metropolitan countries, emerging partnership between the US and Latin America and the new interest shown toward Latino sub-groups, reveal that Latinos can play a prominent role in the future of California.

California progress or....
Article Abstract:
A comparison of the problems faced by California in the 70s and those which California faces in 1994 shows that the problems such as budget deficits, education finance, reforms and taxes are the same but the situation is much worse in 1994. Election expenditures have increased and campaigns have become more partisan and negative. There is a rise in Latino and Asian populations and the whole population has increased by more than 10 million. The lack of revenues in the legislature has also contributed to the worsening social condition.

In search of the California dream: our strength lies in our diversity
Article Abstract:
California's diverse manpower is its strength in fulfilling its dream of building up a universal state. Its diversity can contribute to the development of economy by improving trade relations with countries in Latin America and Pacific Rim. Its diversity has also enriched its art, music and theater. However spending cuts in education, crime and unemployment are acting as barriers against the fulfillment of the dream. Economy should be developed in such a way that it does not discriminate any section of the society.
