Lenel Systems International Inc CTO and EVP Rudy Prokupets believes in the importance of an open exchange of information in computerized security systems. Prokupets believes that the proprietary nature of most existing security systems as well as operating systems makes upgrading a difficult process. He adds that the increase in the rate of technological improvements has made the adoption of an open architecture in the security system industry.
