The effects of firm specific taxes and government mandates with an application to the U.S. unemployment insurance program
Article Abstract:
A theoretical model reveals that a variation in the tax incentives across firms can lead to employment reallocation and dead-weight losses even in the absence of aggregate labor effect. The study also shows that tax costs are borne mostly by workers and that further studies are needed to determine more conclusive evidence regarding taxes and labor effects.
