Volunteerism: reality bites
Article Abstract:
People aged 20-34, known as Generation X, do not appear to do more voluntary work than other sectors of society, according to a Georgetown University associate professor of political science, communications culture and technology, Diana Owen. Mike Madrid, ex-California Republican Party political director, believes that the Generation X age group are keen to improve the world, but not through politics. Ted Halstead, President of New America Foundation, claims that young adults are doing more voluntary work and involved in politics, but has not backed up his belief with statistics.

Generation X: The unknown quantity
Article Abstract:
There is uncertainty as to how to encourage voters from Generation X, the 20-34 age group, to become interested in voting. Generation X will definitely have an influence, but the extent of that influence and whether that influence will be positive are unknown factors. Most people of that age group have no political loyalties.
