Kim Alexander and the California Voter Foundation
Article Abstract:
The California Voter Foundation has become a significant political enterprise under the influence of Kim Alexander, who has been able to make effective use of her knowledge of both computers and politics. She first made an impact by supplying a wide range of information by computer to ordinary voters on candidates for statewide positions in the 1994 general elections. The foundation now makes available a wide range of political information, and also offers a guide to the California Legislature.

Silence in the courtroom
Article Abstract:
Juvenile courts in most states in America are usually held behind closed doors and public access is restricted so that children's problems are not exposed to public scrutiny. However, critics argue that this allows the system to avoid accountability and hide its mistakes. Families find they cannot get hold of essential records. Media lawyers have been campaigning for access to juvenile courts and the Legislature is finally considering making the process more public.
