Conversion factor instability in international comparisons of health care expenditure: some econometric comments
Article Abstract:
Application of a heteroscedasticity consistent covariance matrix estimator on three econometric equations advanced in a previous study reveals that the results are overstated. Results showed that income elasticity is not considerable compared to the case per capita health care expenditure and that the the contention that the aggregate income elasticity is significantly greater one is not satisfactory. The approach used in this study is considered more applicable, comprehensive and sound than that suggested in the other report.
