Cross-gender mentoring career development in the health care industry
Article Abstract:
The impact of mentoring on the career development path of executives in the healthcare industry was studied. Mentors are described as experienced executives within an organization who have the technical know-how and interpersonal skills to influence and provide political sponsorship to people who are working their way up through the organization's corporate structure. A survey regarding mentoring was sent civilian members of the American College of Health Executives. Results of the survey indicated that mentors were able to positively influence the career path of female executives and their chances for promotion in their organizations.

Health care and America's rolling depression
Article Abstract:
The Clinton administration's health care reform efforts were spurred by the seeming inability of employers to bear rising health care costs. The responsibility for reforming the nation's health care system has been relegated to the private sector. The healthcare industry has risen to the challenge by coming up with managed care plans that expose tremendous overcrowding in the market. Such overcapacity should be curtailed so that the health care market can rebound from its currently depressed state.

Strategic leadership: a view from quantum and chaos theories
Article Abstract:
Uncertainty in health care is caused by the world's quantum and chaotic nature rather than by economic and political pressures. This nature may be expressed as economic, political, technological or human uncertainty. However, modern science reveals that these expressions of uncertainty are primarily caused by the uncertain state of nature and the uncertain evolution of the world with the passage of time.
