Article Abstract:
An analysis of the United States bad economic conditions' influence on the health care industry, Americans health care spending, the signing of the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act (MMA) of 2003, shortage of medical personnel and the forecasts for the possible growth of the unemployment rate, competitions between specialty hospitals and traditional acute care providers and the operational trends of the industry for the year 2004 and the 2005 are discussed.
