Medical insurance and the use of health care services by the elderly
Article Abstract:
A study, which examined the role of health insurances on the elderly's preference to avail health care services, showed that the elders who are heavily insured avail the most health care services. The relationship between insurance coverage and service was observed to be due largely to the incentives provided by insurers. Economic status also has an influence over health care services use through larger purchase of insurance.
