Much ado about two: reconsidering retransformation and the two-part model in health econometrics
Article Abstract:
Consideration of retransformation and the modified two-part model (M2PM) helps in dealing with health economics applications involving outcomes and covariates. With regards to M2PM, the use of an assumption that covariates are statistically independent is eliminated. Such assumption tend to offer little help or may even become counterproductive when a given equation is a nontrivial function of covariates.

An empirical examination of the implications of assortative matching on the incidence of HIV
Article Abstract:
An empirical study of the implications of assortative matching trends founded on HIV status showed that HIV-positive individuals are estimated to be more than doubly prone as HIV-negative individuals to have HIV-positive partners. These finding suggest that the HIV incidence forecasts figures determined by conventional epidemiological prototypes should be reduced by roughly one-third.
