Hospital and Health Networks' 1996 contract management survey reveals a trend toward hospital outsourcing of traditional business functions, primarily business office and materials management duties. Business, clinical, and support functions are all expected to be outsourced at a greater rate in 1997. Satisfaction with outsourcing was generally high, with several categories receiving 100% satisfaction ratings. Discontinuation plans were minimal.

Allied Services has developed services which can be used by nearly 3,000 in in the Northeastern area around Scranton, PA, although there are three hospitals and 37 other health agencies in the area. Toys are delivered to disabled children, homes are found for the aged, and burn victims can be healed as well. The facility in Scranton has a hospital, training center, and nursing center, and there is a hospital in Wilkes-Barre, PA, as well.
