Organ donation and transplantation: the need for a multipronged approach for equitable allocation
Article Abstract:
Both medical professionals and the public suffer from low organ supplies because of a lack of consensus on effective and equitable allocation procedures. Existing legislation, such as the Anatomical Gift Act, improved organ donation and transplantation procedures, but the medical profession must take more aggressive measures, such as education on required request laws, before donation systems become more efficient. Health services administrators and medical professionals must also encourage public awareness programs for organ donation procedures to increase donation supplies.

Research and continuous improvement: the merging of two entities?
Article Abstract:
The complex nature of healthcare organizations means that more research on continuous improvement (CI) is necessary to improve efforts. Both research and CI similarly require ongoing problem-solving stemming from theory andinvolving information gathering. By opening up a dialogue, administrators, researchers and CI practitioners may develop a way to effectively merge the two disciplines.
