Utilisation as a measure of equity by Mooney, Hall, Donaldson and Gerard
Article Abstract:
G. Mooney, J. Hall, C. Donaldson and K. Gerard (MHCG) argue that despite equal access to health services, their health demands still determine the type and amount of services rendered to them. Overlooking this principle would imply that patient's idiosyncracies will be ignored and that health personnel strictly comply with standard medical procedures. However, many believe that other factors should be considered in determining health care distribution.

The redistributive effect of health care finance in twelve OECD countries
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the effects of income redistribution in the health care financing schemes used in 12 member nations of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development reveals the importance of the vertical effect over reranking and horizontal inequity in the determination of the overall redistributive effect. The study also concludes that redistributive effect and differential treatment tend to be influenced by the source of payment.
