Work force gap
Article Abstract:
Hospitals need to foster training of future employees through partnerships with schools, government, and associations. Steps in developing these partnerships are creating relationships, assessing future personnel needs, creating a plan, implementing programs, and developing a hospital culture of continuous training. Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston has Project PROTECH, a vocational education program which trains radiology technicians. New York City's Walks of Life program is aimed at otherwise potentially unemployable students.
