A 47-year-old woman with sarcoidosis
Article Abstract:
The various presentations, protean manifestations, variable natural history, attempts to understand the etiology of sarcoidosis, and the options for treatment are discussed with a case study of a 47 years old woman with sarcoidosis. Based on consensus guidelines, extrapulmonary sarcoidosis affecting the heart or the nervous system typically warrants systemic therapy, whereas ocular sarcoidosis is treated either with topical or systemic therapy, depending on nature of involvement.

A 60-year-old woman who has felt sad for much of her life
Article Abstract:
The depression of the 60-year-old woman is studied with the causes and it is found that she was resistant to antidepressants and therefore meets the diagnostic definition of treatment-resistant depression, which typically refers to ineffective antidepressant therapy. The reasons for patients inadequate response to antidepressants are incorrect diagnosis, inadequate treatment, genetic polymorphisms and cognitive impairment and neurological disease.
