A district nursing renaissance
Article Abstract:
A groundbreaking scheme in Kent is freeing up nurses to provide patients with effective case management of long-term conditions and helping to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. The District Nurse Renaissance Project at Dartford, Gravesham, and Swanley Primary Care Trust is running since December 2004, and it is a scheme that extends the skills of nurses and health care assistants within PCT's district nursing service.

New push for PBC
Article Abstract:
Practice-based commissioning (PCB), originally introduced in 2004, has received new guidance in December 2006 as part of a bid by the government to get more nurses and doctors designing primary care services. The new guidance is expected to boost PBC ensuring involvement of multidisciplinary teams.
