A good career move
Article Abstract:
Ray Greenwood and Caz Austin chose nursing as a second career. Both gave up more lucrative jobs for the personal satisfaction from nursing. They consider mature entrants have much to contribute from previous experience as they are often more self-confident and questioning. Both became politically involved and neither regrets the change of direction. Project 2000 is likely to encourage more late entrants to nursing.

NT reveals major jobs crisis
Article Abstract:
There is shortage of job vacancies for nurses throughout the UK, particularly for grade D and E nurses, and the number of applicants for vacant posts is rising. The situation is affecting experienced nurses as well as those newly qualified, and is attributed to staff cut backs, the recession, and fewer nurses moving on because of fears of unemployment.
