It is wrong for the media to claim that asylum-seekers will take jobs in the UK National Health Service away from Britons. There is a desperate need for staff at all levels, so no jobs will be stolen. All doctors and nurses will have UKCC or General Medical Council registration.

Recruiting staff from abroad can supply much-needed labour for the UK National Health Service, as well as fostering cultural diversity. However, this can only be a temporary solution, and staff salaries will have to rise if the staff shortage is to be permanently resolved.
