Hearing aid
Article Abstract:
Psychiatric nurse Glenda Wildschut is a member of South Africa's Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The commission is investigating violations of human rights which occurred in South Africa between 1960 and 1994. The commission has heard harrowing evidence from nearly 22,000 people, and will continue to sit for a total of two and a half years. Violations include murder, torture, and abduction. Wildschut, who has previously worked to establish a psychiatric centre for violence and torture victims, hopes the commission will ease the process of reconciliation.

Glad to be back
Article Abstract:
UK nurses are being tempted to return to work after taking career breaks by a hospital trust which pays re-training fees and provides help with child care costs. Re-training courses can cost up to 300 pounds sterling for a course lasting five days, which is too expensive for most returning nurses. Trusts need to ensure nurses are given a warm welcome when returning to work after a career break, because they often lack confidence.
