A vulnerable adults act is long overdue
Article Abstract:
Linda Nazarko talks about the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) legislation of April 2004 that covers staff working in care homes and domiciliary care agencies, where employees must report abusers and check all staff against a POVA register if they are working with vulnerable adults. According to her, most abuse and neglect takes place in a person's own home, which may be physical assault, threatening behavior, neglect, sexual assault or financial abuse.
