Adult acne: Troublesome, but treatable
Article Abstract:
Acne occurs when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skill cells, and the treatment for acne works by reducing oil production, speeding up skin cell turnover, and fighting bacterial infection. Doctors might recommend one more of the four types of treatment, topical treatment with acne lotions to dry up the oil, remove dead cells and kill bacteria, use of antibiotics, isotretinoin which is a powerful drug for acne scarring, and oral contraceptives.
