Advances in care of premature babies create ethical dilemmas
Article Abstract:
The continuing advances in technology enable people to survive more serious illnesses with greater awareness about their legal and ethical rights and the move to a more open culture within health care. The Charlotte Wyatt case about receiving life-prolonging treatment to the gravely ill premature baby, was about weighing up the quality of life and the effects resuscitation will have against her right to a pain free, peaceful and dignified death.
