Advancing the war on malaria
Article Abstract:
Scientists continue to work on developing a vaccine against malaria, which affects hundreds of millions worldwide every year and kills three million every year. It usually affects the poorest populations, which may be one reason more attention is not devoted to it. New drugs are needed because the parasite that causes malaria is becoming resistant to chloroquine.
