Weider, who believed that bodybuilding can be better promoted by champions, saw Schwarzenegger's potential during a competition in Europe. He arranged Schwarzenegger's entry to the 1968 IFBB competition in the US, which became the Austrian's stepping stone for numerous bodybuilding world titles.
