Aromatherpay in the care of older people
Article Abstract:
Elderly patients may benefit from the practice of aromatherapy, although care must be taken by the nurses carrying out the massage to gain full permission from the patient, taking into account age and personal preferences. Many elderly patients may not wish to have a full body massage, although hand massages are very therapeutic and beneficial for muscle and joint manipulation. A practicing aromatherapy nurse needs permission from a patient's doctor before any treatment can take place.
