The Chittagong healthy city project
Article Abstract:
Since 1969 Chittagong, Bangladesh has increased from 10 kilometers square to 183, and the population has jumped from 30,000 to more than 1.5 mil. Poverty and its social and economic ills have also increased. In 1993, WHO's Healthy Cities project was launched. Problems are being solved at the local level.

The Quebec network
Article Abstract:
The Healthy Towns and Villages movement began Apr 1987 in the province. The town of Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec made significant changes. Both a botanical garden and a decease in lead pollution from a local factory were achieved. The successful Quebec network shares its expertise internationally.
