Toward a healthier Managua
Article Abstract:
Migration of people into Managua, Nicaragua doubled the populations within three years. It has over 250 squatters sites and 300 polluting industrial sites. Waste disposal is haphazard and dangerous. The city's fight includes health promoters, an increased health budget and a Healthy City project.

Teheran: success in a suburb
Article Abstract:
Kooy-e-Sizdah-e-Aban, a district of Teheran, Iran began its Healthy City Project Nov 1991. Teheran's mayor donated a building for the center, and a public awareness campaign began for the 30,000 residents. A main target of the project was expansion of primary health care and its delivery.
