OEL survey published
Article Abstract:
A report published by the Health and Safety Executive into occupational exposure limits (OELs) has revealed that industry understanding of OELs is variable. Most companies surveyed had completed some risk assessment and employee's exposure to chemicals in the air was controlled, however, risk management among small firms was less comprehensive. Report recommendations are targeted are small businesses.

Mesothelioma alert
Article Abstract:
Mesothelioma will prove fatal to about one in 100 British men of roughly 50 years of age who have come into contact with asbestos dust in the building trade. Roughly a third of the cancer-related deaths will be accounted for by plumbers, carpenters, electricians and gas fitters, according to Prof Julian Peto.
