Patients with blood pressure in the high normal range but below the hypertension threshold are at increased risk for cardiovascular disease. Investigators with the PREMIER Collaborative Research Group revealed that lifestyle modification of diet, weight, and physical fitness can improve blood pressure control and could reduce the risk for chronic disease.
