Association between HIV and subpreputial penile wetness in uncircumcised men in South Africa
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to describe the prevalence and characteristics of subpreputial penile wetness and to investigate the association between current levels of penile wetness and HIV infection, enrolling 650 South African men. The results indicated a positive association between subpreputial penile wetness and HIV, suggesting that penile hygiene should be improved in uncircumcised men in areas where HIV was a significant problem.

Feasibility and effectiveness of cotrimoxazole prophylaxis for HIV-1-infected adults attending an HIV/AIDS clinic in Uganda
Article Abstract:
The feasibility and effectiveness of daily cotrimoxazole prophylaxis is examined in a well-established cohort of HIV-infected adults attending clinics in Entebbe, Uganda. The results reinforce the need for large-scale provision of cotrimoxazole prophylaxis for all HIV-positive patients in developing countries.
