Babies, bruises and black eyes
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly widely recognized in the UK that midwives need to address the issue of pregnant women suffering domestic violence from their partner. Efforts are being made to encourage National Health Service trusts to develop local policies to assist midwives and other health professionals in dealing with the legal, practical and ethical issues associated with domestic violence. Emphasis is being placed on the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing this problem.
