Basic advances and new avenues in therapy of spinal cord injury
Article Abstract:
The biological, engineering, and rehabilitative strategies that may lessen disability and enhance quality of life for patients with acute and chronic myelopathies, primarily due to traumatic spinal cord injury (SCI), are presented. The neurobiological study of SCI provides better understanding of the cascades of gene expression and cell interactions both acutely and chronically after injury.
