Battle over suicide help continues in federal court
Article Abstract:
Three judges from the U.S. 9th District Court of Appeals on 7th May 2003 listened to the arguments over whether U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft had the right over banning the use of narcotics in assisted suicides. Some medical experts stated that the court ruling could have significance beyond whether it allows Oregons assisted-suicide law to stand and that it could affect state and federal jurisdiction over medical practices and the quality of palliative care.
