Behaviors of heterosexual sexually transmitted disease clinic patients with sex partners at increased risk for human immunodeficiency virus infection
Article Abstract:
There appears to be a need for HIV prevention strategies aimed at heterosexuals in high-risk areas. Questionnaires were completed by 3,254 heterosexual women and 3,617 heterosexual men identified as having had sex with a partner at risk for HIV infection. Participants had attended one of 25 sexually transmitted disease clinics nationwide. Respondents found to be HIV-positive were most frequently from the Northeast, were black, or had had sex with a known HIV-infected partner. Nearly all of the respondents reported not consistently using a condom while many reported never using them.

Epidemiologic Aspects of Male Gonococcal Infection in Greece
Article Abstract:
Drug-resistant gonorrhea infection in Greek men is strongly associated with sexual contacts outside of Greece, and sex with non-Greek partners. The rate of gonorrhea fell substantially in 1986, and more often affected older men. Infection with gonococcal bacteria that produce penicillinase, an enzyme that inactivates penicillin antibiotic drugs, was traced to sources outside of Greece, indicating that penicillinase-producing gonococci are not endemic in Greece.
