Boosting the image
Article Abstract:
Older people's nursing has long been seen as a difficult and sloughing career because of the highly dependent nature of the patients, and the work is mostly viewed as 'basic nursing care' offering little job satisfaction, heavy workloads and endless bed bathing and toileting. The Department of Health's national director for older people's services argues whether a change of image is needed to attract more nurses to this specialist area.

Heart patients exercise more after motivational interviews
Article Abstract:
A UK study reveals that a motivational interviewing could be helpful to increase the amount of exercise, which people with heart failure take by up to one-quarter. The patients are encouraged to think about the benefits of exercise, the reasons for not exercising and what would be the likely outcome of not exercising, during these motivational interviewing sessions.
