Bridging the generation gap with professional courtesy
Article Abstract:
There are many issues surrounding the medical care of the elderly, including retired physicians. For example, older physicians and their families should receive medical care as a professional courtesy just as they did when they were younger. In addition, they often feel that their physicians are overcharging but must remember to take into account medical inflation. Good communication between a physician and his elderly patients is often lacking. Both younger and older physicians could benefit by treating each other with more kindness and courtesy.
