Cal/OSHA: a cut above the rest?
Article Abstract:
Labor management and political concerns disunite critical opinion regarding the implications of California's extensive safety programs such as its workplace-safety initiative, Cal/OSHA. Its innovative and trendsetting approaches to workplace safety are considered the most comprehensive out of the 23 state-administered OSHA programs. However, labor groups criticize the California Standards Board for being anti-worker, and the Cal/OSHA for being pushed too far by political motivation without the proper stewardship of safety professionals and administrators.
