Clinical trials point to complexities of chemoprevention for cancer
Article Abstract:
Research reveals that identifying safe and effective agents such as drugs and dietary supplements to prevent cancer in asmyptomatic individuals is not an easy task. Cancer chemoprevention trials are not easy to design or interpret, and candidate agents that look promising in gold-standard observational studies often do not hold up in randomized clinical trials.

Cathepsins probed as pancreatic cancer targets
Article Abstract:
Pancreatic cancer is the most difficult malignancies to combat, however new findings suggest that a novel class of agents might have therapeutic potential for this disease. These agents target cathepsin cysteine proteases, degradative enzymes implicated in the regulation of angiogenesis and invasion during cancer progression.
