This article discusses the new research avenues emnating from the findings in the area of chromosomal translocation products, which have potential use as tumor-specific targets for the development of new therapeutics. Research shows that chromosomal translocations and their resultant fusion proteins occur in various forms of cancer.

New TB vaccines to be tested

The resistance to drugs and co-infection in HIV patients have caused TB strains spread and have led to the increase of tuberculosis in Russia and other states of the former Soviet Union in particular. Two clinical trials of the new TB vaccines are imminent, one in the UK and the other one in Brazil.
