Coffee, CYP1A2 genotype, and risk of myocardial infarction
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine whether cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) enzyme modifies the association between coffee consumption and risk of cardiovascular diseases such as acute myocardial Infarction (MI). The results showed that intake of coffee was associated with an increased risk of nonfatal MI only among individuals with slow caffeine metabolism, suggesting that caffeine plays a role in this association.

Duration of lactation and incidence of type 2 diabetes
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to evaluate the association between lactation history and incidence of type 2 diabetes. Conclusions reveal that longer duration of breastfeeding is associated with reduced incidence of type 2 diabetes and that lactation might reduce risk of type 2 diabetes in young and middle-aged women by improving glucose homeostasis.

Coffee consumption and risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus among middle-aged Finnish men and women
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to determine the relationship between coffee consumption and the incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) among Finnish individuals, who are reported to have the highest coffee consumption in the world. The results reveal that coffee drinking has a graded inverse association with the risk of type 2 DM.
