Colorful language: How do race and gender affect a nurse's chance of being verbally abused?
Article Abstract:
A survey found that men were more likely to face verbal abuse than women working in mental health nursing where levels of abuse are higher than average. However, data reveals that African-American and Asian nurses' experiences are very different from those of their American colleagues where 77 percent of Asian nurses felt ethnicity affected their likelihood of being verbally abused.
