FDA warns against breast milk drug
Article Abstract:
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned that the unapproved drug domperidone, being used by many breast-feeding women to increase milk production, may induce arrhythmias, cardiac arrest or even sudden death and they want women to stop consuming this drug. The warning came after reports said that many women were purchasing this drug from pharmacies that prepare it in bulk ingredients or from foreign sources.
