Coronary angioplasty: using balloons to open clogged arteries
Article Abstract:
Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty is the most common nonsurgical treatment for the chest pain caused by blocked coronary arteries. The procedure has a 90% success rate, but for up to half of patients the artery renarrows and further treatment is necessary.
