Current pharmacotherapy for Alzheimer's disease
Article Abstract:
Five major categories of drugs used in the Alzheimer's disease (AD) treatment such as cholinergic treatment, antiglutamatergic treatment, vitamins and antioxidants and others are studied. Results show that the introduction of these drugs for AD in the past decade has been welcome but it does not detract from the need to improve symptomatic therapy and to develop neuroprotective drugs.
