Article Abstract:
People suffering from Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) have their quality of life determined by the severity of their symptoms and the standard of their pain management. Prompt, accurate pain assessment is the cornerstone of effective pain management and a comprehensive, multidisciplinary team strategy is essential, particularly for managing patients with frequent acute pain or chronic pain.

Identifying the characteristics of children with pressure ulcers
Article Abstract:
The characteristics of children with pressure ulceration are identified so that those at risk may be identified in future. Risk assessment tools designed specially for children are needed and more research should be done to confirm the characteristics that increase children's risk of pressure ulceration and establish the significance of individual characteristics.
