Working in an amoral world
Article Abstract:
Nearly half of 1,324 workers, managers, and executives interviewed in a published survey admitted they had done things they considered unethical or illegal. Middle managers said they were under a great deal of pressure to do so. Health care workers were under the most pressure to accede to cover ups or cut corners. Often the choice is to violate ethical standards or resign and so many rationalize instead.

One nurse, two nurse ... red nurse, blue nurse
Article Abstract:
Quality nursing care depends on good nurses. New guidelines address the need for executive representation among nurses, the debate about nursing standards in the operating room, and how to create ideal teams in acute care. Management innovations notwithstanding, common sense is still strongly encouraged.
